I wouldn't say you are doomed, but if this is something you really wish to acheive then have at it again and when the urge hits again do something that will remove the thought from your mind.
I tried to quit was up to 2 months and all it took was 1 really bad day and I had a pack in hand. Now I am looking forward to another time. hang in there my dad was 2 1/2 packs a day then one day cold turkey, never had nor wanted one till that day in the hospital :(

If you really wanna quit your doomed. Been there 28 times now. Best move to a deserted isle and drink the scotch. You never quit, you just stop for a while.

I smoked for over 30 years. Tried everything, finally used zyban and a program put on by cancer society. Haven't smoked in 4 years. Every now and then I gat a craving, but the thought of trying to quit again keeps me away. And all the extra money in my pocket is used for purchasing blow jobs not cigarettes.

I tried many times b4 I was successful. My failures were giving in and having one every now & then. It would always lead to me getting tired of bumming from friends/coworkers and buying my own, once that happened I was toast. If you are in the right frame of mind you will find the strength to say no to the urges. I am now 17 months since my last smoke and the urges are almost gone, but still sneak up now and then.

Good luck, don't be afraid (or too proud) to get help. That help could be a support group or stop smoking aid such as the patch or zyban or gum. If you do make it you'll be super glad as many facets of your life will improve, including your sex life! ;)

It's been well over a year for me but I still cheat every now and then. Very hard to control the cravings sometimes.

the only reason i was trying to quit was this girl i was interested in was not attracted to smokers, so i stopped, but after a month i see she's not really my taste afterall, so i think i'm missing the smokes a bit

I am trying to quit every friggin day. I have even stopped carrying the damned pack. Does'nt work that way. You gotta quit cold turkey. No other way.

Only thing that worked for me was pot. But then I get the insane munchies and end up gaining weight. So I gotta join and gym and that's expensive. Jesus, why can't cigarettes be good for you?
