I think that analysis is spot on.

I think the analysis in the above link that b4u provided is spot on, that this is a new segment (lower capability almost disposable tablet) and that Android OEMs are now toast....

Should do very well in the USA. A capable tablet with proper services available for it at a price for the masses.

does it ship with an email client? and a good browser that support flash? is it capacitive screen? the price point is EXACTLY what i want to pay for that size tablet. i'm 99% hooked.

i guess i coulda found that but i didn't. thanks. even given the security concerns this looks like a winner to me. i need to check further, perhaps when we can see more complete non-amazon reviews. at a glance, it's not clear how to get non-purchased material onto it. like movies. mp3s. there's no sd slot so you only have 8 gig offline. and amazon has played very loosely with teir control of content (they have promised not to delete stuff from your kindle ANYMORE tho).

also, waiting for it to be rooted.

I heard somewhere that it will not ship with an email client. the browser looks to be quite good and does support flash.
for the price looks to be a definite winner.

Nice toy for $200. I personally don't have a need for it or care for it, but I suggest to anyone who wants one, to wait and let the beta testers buy them and work the kinks out.

We need to wait till more info is available, but it looks as if it won't be a do all device. It'll be closely locked to amazon. but for 200 bucks, a tablet with a nice screen and a browser that works will be enough. reviews and actual user experience will help make the decision.

I heard it might be pretty decent...ifya want a novelty gadget...especially ifya don't need built-in camera & webcam nonsense.

I agree, I'd wait so I could root it, and do whatever the hell I wanted with it.
