I thought that the night was pretty good all in all

Certainly good balance was used between the ground game(often less entertaining) and brutal striking...

Highlight Matches:

Heavyweight Gold Match:
Fedore vs Cro Cop

Middleweight Gold Match:
Finals:Shogun vs Arona

Arona vs Silva

Shogun vs Overeem

Fedore was dominant...

As was Shogun as he dominated Arona to win the middleweight...

Wanderlei had a tough match against Arona, and lost a close decision...He took too much out of Arona for him to even show up in the finals of the tournament against Shogun though...

What'd anyone else out there who saw the fight night think?

Peace,
G

Awww geez....Choron....

I already have a thread going on about the fight.....
What are you doing man?!!!?!? :D

I have to disagree with you on the Arona and Silva fight.
I don't think it was even a close decision on the fight. Arona won the fight without question.
Even Silva knew that the judges wouldn't be able to save him....he was thoroughly dominated by Arona.

Though I do agree that Arona's fight with Vanderlai took more out of him than Shogun's fight with Overeem.

(Dude, you gotta lose the "Peace G"; it just doesn't work!!!!)

Well Shogun got an ass-beating from the dutchman at the beginning of their fight...

Then Overeem fatigued and got TKO'ed...

I do agree with you that Arona controlled that fight, but only from what he did on the ground...I'd also point out the bobbing and weaving technique from Silva that permitted him to dodge 95% of the ground and pound from Arona...

I have no problem with the judges decision in the end though, Silva failed to press the attack at a particular point in the match... especially in the stand up... Too much waiting lost him all his chances to win...

Fedore is just amazing...

Peace,
G
