Like any shock comic he had his 15 minutes. the only line of his that I really liked was "I'm working on my people skills here"

The word "some" or if you prefer "many" needs to be inserted between "know" and "Americans".

Lancs is absolute right: "Vulgar Imbecile" accurately describes Mr. Clay.

Clay's routine is vulgar and imbecilic but you shouldn't confuse the man with the character he plays. When he was popular I had a roommate that loved Clay''s stuff but I could not really listen to it. Clay did manage to make further then a lot of comedians.

I don't find his stuff anymore moronic then the "Jackass" humor of recent years.

I worked on a movie in town with A.D. Clay, I supplied the special props. He once whipped one of my best looking pieces against a wall and smashed it, in a burst of unrehearsed improvisation. Towards the end of the shoot the director was on set, and loudly shouted that Andrew Clay was one of the biggest assholes he had ever met. Clay could certainly hear him, and he slunk off without making a scene. None of us on set had any respect for him.

On the other hand, the other big name star of the movie was Shannon Tweed. She was kind and gracious to everyone, never complained or bitched, always knew her lines, nailed her scenes with a minimum of takes, and was a devoted mom who stayed in constant touch with her kids who were living at her hotel at the time. All the cast and crew had tremendous respect for her, she was a fine, hard working lady. Not like Andrew Clay who was the biggest asshole ever.

In small doses his stuff amuses me, mainly because of the shock value. ("omigod did he really just say that?"), but I can't make it through one skit of his without going "there must be something else to watch".

Kinda like my opinion of South Park, there's a few gems of humour but you gotta wade through a lot of "potty" humour to find them.

I never got the Diceman either. His "poems" may have been funny when I was 12 but not as an adult. I used to work with a guy who collected bootlegs of his shows if you can believe it. He played me one of his standup videos and I only laughed once during the whole hour. When asked if he smoked during sex he replied "Yeah I do but it's hard to keep the ashtray from falling off her ass". Dennis Miller described him best. "He's just Fonzie with Tourette's Syndrome".

Sonic Temple
He was the 1st comic to sell out Madison Square Garden in NY. Considering how many Hall of Fame comics the US actually has, that was a huge accomplishment like him or not.

Here
I saw him in upstate NY in 1990. He was a one-note act, but for a short period of time, it was a pretty funny act. He sold out arenas, which for a comedy act is amazing, but you can only hear dirty nursery rhymes so many times before it wears thin. If you thought he was bad as a comic, I beg you not to watch any of his movies.

LOL gimme a break....he has a schtick, EOS. Now everyone has an opinion, just like Bill Cosby did when he told off Eddie Murphy for being too vulgar and how RIchard Pryor was banned from many cities because of his act and how Marilyn Manson has been banned and caused protests.

It's entertainment and as Hunter said: it isn't any worse than the Jackass series of stunts and in fact, it is a hell of a lot tamer.

Now you can cite all kinds of examples of what an "asshole" he is/was on set, but then again, you could say the same about many "superstars". So he broke a prop, and Aerosmith et all have totally trashed hotel rooms just for fun.....

He broke a prop, BFD.

Ever yelled at someone when they broke some tool worth over a $1000? Or wasted a grand worth of material? The world doesn't run on excusing assholes with a "BFD".

Sorry dude, a tool worth a grand can be used over and over and over again many times. A prop is used for what, three shots then either mothballed or sold off. As for him damaging it, dude, I've had all kinds of my work completed, installed, then 2 days later been called back to take a sledgehammer to it because the customer changed their mind.

I bet ADC isn't the first star to break something in anger and he certainly won't be the last.

I suggest you get over it and move on......

Well, by what ricky said, he sounds like an asshole. I wouldn't have been happy either if it was prop I worked hard on.
