I expect Angelina Jolie has her share of fans on terb. I don't think I've ever seen one of her films, although I have seen bits of the Tomb Raider series. What with all the hype and papparazzi that follow her around, I'm not all that impressed and haven't really understood what all the fuss is about.

I just watched a serious 45 minute interview (i.e. not 10 minutes of fluff on Late Night while she promotes her latest film release) of Angelina Jolie by James Lipton on Inside the Actor's Studio. I think I get it now. She is seriously good looking and seems very real. Maybe I'll ask her on a date. :D

Just thought I would mention the interview. It was done in 2005, so it is not very current. I don't know how often it will be shown, but those who appreciate the actor might want to watch out for it. The interview can be bought on itunes site for a couple of bucks too.

Yeah I watched some of that. Couldn't watch the whole thing cuz of other commitments but yeah, she's hot even in her natural state but dude, she's also a little wacky don't cha think?

I mean, that part about her "living" with her boyfriend, at her mother's house when she was 14, and them cutting each other because the sex wasn't real enough? Ummm OK right....

Or how about the fact that she doesn't cry in her personal life that's why she can on screen? I mean, I can understand not crying often, but never?

I agree, that she does seem real and I respected her for her statement that she wouldn't mind the stories being written about her so much if they would actually get the story right, and tell the whole story.

One other thing, did you check out her pear shaped diamond earrings? I bet they were a carat each easy. Guess those starving kids in the third world countries don't get the new well..........

hmmm, well now that you mention it, the cutting-because-sex-isn't-real-enough is kind of, um, wacko, as you say. I guess I chalked it up to a disturbed early adolecence. I think I missed the comment about crying though. I didn't notice the earings either, but I wouldn't presume to pass judgement on the size of her heart or shape of her character based on that. Yeah, I agree with you that there are some things that are not quite right but I think she came across as authentic and that appealed to me.

Goddess.
She donates 1/3 or her income.
I don't know why anyone expects that because someone cares about the plight of third world children they shouldn't have anything expensive.

Well, considering that I think it is INSANE to pay someone to star in ONE movie more than the president of the united states makes in his entire term in office......

I don't have a problem with anyone Rich and Shameless having anything expensive. But really, think about it, if you're really that concerned about the plight of the third world is having a pair of earrings that would feed a village for a year THAT important?

If she's that concerned why doesn't she donate 2/3 of her income? Hell, she has enough in the bank to live comfortably for the rest of her life already....

don't get me wrong, I think she does a wonderful job and more than any other superstar does but don't ever come to me saying that I (who makes less than 1/10th of 1% of what she does) should donate to feed the hungry when you are wearing earrings that are equal to a year's wages for me....

Well, I don't know that it is insane so much as perverse, but that, for the time being, is what we are stuck with.

So then you are saying that if she does not take a position that is 100% free of contradiction, then she should not take a position at all? I admire her for the position she has taken with regard to poverty and if more celebrites did the same then I believe public attitudes would improve for the better. Must one be a Gandhi or a Mother Theresa before one speaks out for others or tries to do good in this world?

Seems to me that she is doing a lot if she donates 1/3 of her income to worthy causes. Do you do as much? You seem like a person who cares what happens to other people. If so, I commend you for whatever actions you take to help others and encourage you to do more. Is your life 100% free of hypocracy and contradiction? Is mine? Definitely not. But I do what I can and continue to strive to improve myself as a person. That is all anyone can do.

You have no knowledge as to the price of her earrings if that is what bothers you so much. They could have been glass for all you know.

I will never unstand the constant critics (haters). When someone does something good there are always a group waiting to list what they percieve to be that persons flaws or contradictions.

In our culture no good deed goes unpunished. It's a wonder anyone does anything good when they become a lightening rod for criticism.

Her flaws only make her more beautiful.

Cutting sex is soooooooo hot to us gothic types LOL And Strongbeau, I wouldn't have ever guessed!

I can't cry in real life either but watching a movie I'm a total baller. I cried watching lilo and stitch and I cried my ass off in Pan's Labriyth....

I'd have a wacko relationship and kinky sex with her, she is totally the type of chick I'd date LOL

she should make as much money as possible and then run to the bank, people do not pay to watch the president, a surgeon or a teacher to do their job, they pay to watch her to do hers.

On an interesting side note I am trying to find the quote where Bille Bob Thorton was saying that having sex with her was like doing it with a couch, which he quickly retracted.

Sheesh, seems to me like you're a little too defensive of her? You have a thing for her or something?

In answer to your questions (not that I owe you any):
1) I don't do as much, well, mainly because it is impossible for me to. She makes more in 1 second in interest than I do in 2 yrs.
2) Yes, my life is free of hypocrisy and contradiction.

You totally missed my point which was: if you're so concerned about the plight of the starving masses, are diamond earrings THAT important to you? Does she need them to make herself feel beautiful? IMHO this is no better than someone speaking out against furs etc then owning and wearing one in public (remind you of anyone recently?).

Look, I said she's doing great things but IMHO and that's all it is, one could do a hell of a lot with the cost of those earrings. Am I looking for the smallest detail to tear her down? No, but those rocks in her ears weren't small either. In fact, I'd bet they were more n a carat apiece and if I know anything about the rich and shameless, they weren't low quality either. I priced out a 3/4 carat VVSI with a colour of c I think, and that baby ran around 35 - 40K. So let's extrapolate for a moment, if they are better quality, and larger than or equal to a carat apiece, we're talking almost $100,000.00 hanging from her ears.

My point is the excess of it, not that fact that she can't or shouldn't buy nice things....

Kind of like when Ivana Trump said she can't live on $120,000.00 a month.

Anywhere but here
Billy Bob Thornton told in a recent interview with Esquire magazine that having sex with Angelina Jolie is not such a big deal and he doesn't understand why Jolie was voted last year the world's sexiest woman.

"Sleeping with Angelina Jolie is like '****ing the couch", Bob Thornton said. "Sex doesn't have to be with a model to be good."

"Sometimes with the model, the actress or the sexiest person in the world, it may literally be like ****ing the couch."

Billy Bob divorced Angelina Jolie in 2002, after 3 years of marriage.
