There's another anti-police, BLM march down Bay st right now, crowd looks massive.

It must be a Juneteenth event.

No likelihood that the cops will be "defunded" in Canada. In the US, there have been examples shown of gross Police Dept mis spending, such as the "Mound City PD" which - for some unfathomable reason - purchased an MCAT armoured personnel carrier suitable for Afghanistan fire fights for a small town of 9,000 people!

One of the interpretations of "defunding" is turning over police budgeting to a civilian oversight authority to stop nonsense like that.

I am glad the protests are peaceful.

However it’s not just defund the police. Some of the sub groups want to abolish the police.
...

And some just want the police better trained.

These protests are not one voice or one organizations but rather a wide variety of people using their rights to protest something they see as wrong with society.
