it wasn't her time. Lucky for her.

3 second rule = the minimum amount of space counted in time between you and the vehicle in front of you. Example, If the vehicle in front of you passes a pole, it should take you a minimum of 3 seconds before you pass that poll. Speed and road conditions may warrant more distance (seconds) between you and the vehicle in front.

WOW did I jump the first time through. lol
Took me four tries to see it came from the trail in front of her when it run over the piece of wood with it's left tire.
Jeez at the start of the tape I got all antsy when I could not see the road in front of her. I kept thinking she was going to slam into a vehicle in front of her.

The car in front of her hit the wood on the side of the road which caused it to launch into her windshield.

??? She was behind the pickup towing the trailer by about a second. You keep your distance from other vehicles to keep from slamming into them or having them slam into you, and to avoid getting impaled by debris sent flying by vehicles ahead of you. It would appear that car insurance is incredibly expensive in Ontario since motorists haven't heard about the 2 second rule while driving urban streets or the 3 second rule while driving on expressways or RIRO stretches of road such as Highway 11 north of the 400.

Something similar to this happened to a friend of a friend many years ago... A truck drove over a piece of scrap metal on the 401 near KW. It came through the windshield and hit him in the throat... He managed to bring the car to a stop in the median but bled out before anyone could help him...

I think it was the son of an employee of this friend... what a way to go.

She was only about 1 to 1.5 seconds behind the vehicle in front of her, had she been back 3 seconds she a) would have had more time to react (not that it probably would have changed the situation markedly) and b) since the wood started off on the left edge of the road and ended up in the middle of the car it likely would have missed completely.

Yup. Just went and read the article: "came upon two trucks — a flatbed and a truck towing a mobile trailer — engaged in what she called a dangerous game of “cat and mouse” and holding up traffic."

So her solution to this was to a) pull out her camera phone and drive one-handed while videoing and b) drive right in close behind the two "dangerous" drivers.

Yeah because that's the smart thing to do, get into a dangerous situation and compromise your ability to react to danger.

Cops should have given her a ticket.
