Anyone Seen Any Good Movies Lately?

I go out usually once a week with the bf and see a movie... but usually they kind of suck. Except for Chernobyl Diaries (which I really liked) they past few movies we have seen have been kind of awful, my least favourite being dark shadows. I want to take him out for father's day. Can anyone suggest a good movie that blew you away, scared you to death or made you laugh your a** off ;)

Just saw Corialanus online. It was very good with lots of war action. Edge of your seat stuff. Shakespeare play into film with Ralph Fiennes, Gerard Butler, and Vanessa Redgrave. BUT you have to like the Shakespearean "talk". This a moderinized version set in the 21st century where the Roman Republic never fell and still exists after 2000 years. Made much like the way DiCaprio's Romeo & Juliet was modernized to look like 1990's Los Angeles.

Although it's too early for a Best Picture of 2012 call, Moonrise Kingdom is an early candidate. Perhaps the most humane film you'll see all year.

Wow, I could never go out to see 52 movies a year. I usually wait until I hear good things about a movie, and see maybe the best 5 or 6 movies for the year. I save the rest for video. There's nothing worse than sitting in a crowded theatre bored out of your mind.

Men in Black III

The producers and directors have done an excellent job. The story follows the previous films in all aspects. Worth seeing.

Or get one of those 1000 movies you should see books and stay home and watch stuff from that.

Or go to video stores like Queen Video..... they have an amazing selection of mainstream, indy, rare, foreign, older, and unexpected stuff. For example, Wizard of Oz with the Dark Side of tehe Moon Synched up. I know you could do it yourself but someone has done the work for you.

Last week in Vegas.... Snow White and the Huntsman and The Avengers. Wanted to see MIIB 3 but not much of a Will Smith fan so I opted out. Didn't see the last two so that added to the decision.

Just today for the umpteenth time, saw Rounders again. Awesome Poker flick. Never forget the Cardinal Rule, Always Leave Yourself Outs.
