Anyone still use the club on their steering wheel?

I used it in the 90's but not recently although my cars are just as expensive. Not to be a snob but I just saw a lady put one on the steering wheel of her early 1990's Toyota Tercel. Shouldn't she hope it gets stolen?

Could not help but laugh inside, have not seen one of those in a while.

With chipped keys in all my recent cars I guess I feel a club is too much trouble.

The Club in my opinion is pretty much useless.
If they're out to jack a car, they'd probably use a tow truck and tow the car away. That way nothing's broken.
Unless it's the idiots that just try to steal a car for a joy ride. That's so gay.

Yeah, the anti-theft devices with the transponder keys pretty much make the club obsolete, but they can fuck up. Recently my relatively new truck (around 30,000 miles) began to refuse to start about 1/4 of the time. Of course when I took it into the dealer it worked perfectly. It got progressively worse, and finally the third time in they admitted the computer was fucked and they had to replace the whole thing. Basically my truck thought I was trying to steal it. Also, God forbid you ever lose your original keys and have to get new ones. Not cheap.

I've never tried it on my steering wheel, but there's nothing better to use on a baby seal!

I've been using the club for over 15 years.

It works. So far, I still have my 1984 Plymouth Reliant.
Ditto for me and my 1979 Pacer. That gem is well protected.

I use it everyday at home, I have lots of pedestrian traffic near me.. A real car thief would steal it in a flash but wouldnt want it anyway.. Its just to deter the the punks out for a joy ride.. Its peace of mind also...

Somebody tried to steal my car. Kicked the club and bent it, came off easy. The piece of crap is made of coated scrap metal, coated to look tougher than it actually is.
They got "interrupted", that's the only reason I still have the car. Didn't even damage the wheel.
Want peace of mind, get a club.... want to keep the car, screw the club. Starter kill switch.

to the OP, maybe she just has 3rd party and that is why she is using the club.

Money$hot, its not simple to tow a car for stealing purposes.

Toroz, about boomerang i don't believe that crap, all the people I know have had their car stolen who had that, IMO its someone who works inside who leaks the info.

How about having a master switch installed in a secret location?

That's a good first step.......

I have 3 anti-theft features, but can still be taken by a flatbed. If they want it, they can take it. Just trying to delay them long enough for me to walk out and shred them.

I don't need one. My car isnt worth stealing!

Now in a year or 2 when I buy a brand new truck. Yeah, I'll have one installed somewhere!

The Club can be hacksawed through pretty quickly for even a semi-experienced thief.

But, it does cost extra time, and a thief might move on to another car. That would be the only real reason to use it, as a deterrent.

Owning a car that's not worth stealing helps too.

hacksawing the club has to be very hard since its steel.

After seeing my broken club after the theft attempt..... I'd say it has a coating on it. It looked like cheap scrap metal that had a chrome outer coat.
It looked like they bent it with a well placed kick (may have used a sledge or soemthing, I got there just after). Didn't even damage the damn steering wheel and the club bent like a banana.
