Anyone tried AI language tutors?

Keep seeing the ad every time I go on youtube or facebook. Personal AI language coach. Wonder what the quality is. It sort of makes sense. My problem with learning a language is no one to practice with. Thought of getting a job as a dishwasher in a Mexican restaurant for the chit chat. The idea of having a sort of live conversation with somebody, even an AI coach seems to be a possible fix. Just wondering. Before I sign up.

Curious to hear the state of the union. As a supplement to other learning it seems to be a good tool, but by itself it was not their in the past. Curious to see who good they are now.
