Much of what was said in the thread was a confirmation of what I thought and he may get one, after the Xmas bills are paid for and he learns how to use the new LED tv. Don't worry gang, his PVR doesn't blink 12 all the time. I'm still a bit concerned about the transfer of some files to an Apple platform. Stuff he's worked on for years.

Data file that are specific to particular programs. Don't know the whole story, but that his explanation. I assume particular genealogy programs that I don't use for sifting through mountains of data and displaying them on trees or in monographs. I'm sure there are some workarounds. but he not into those kinds if things.

As far as that goes, it's fairly simple to run both MacOS and Windows on the same box.
