Aps Availability

I'm an Apple user...but, my SO is a BB girl. I want to get her a tablet...and naturally am gravitating to the iPad...but what comparable android tablets are good with lots of Aps...or at least many of the Aps on Apple? Is there lots of Aps outside the kingdom of Apple? Price wise, not Apple by definition is generally cheaper....and cheaper is good these days

Android tablets have as many apps as apple. At least as many good apps. Seriously, of the thousands and thousands of apps available, how many are actually worthy of install? Less than a hundred I'd guess. Don't base your decision on apple vs android on availability of apps. All the big ones are cross-platform, like evernote, draw something, angry birds, and so on.

total app count still favours apple, but lots of those apps are ancient like 2 - 3 years old. Android has more new apps.

I find the HP ENVY x2 concept interesting. A real notebook computer that is also a tablet when you want it to be. Might get me one of these (or something like it) soon when the technology matures just a little more. Tablets are nice but sometimes you need a “real” computer and yes sometimes you even need Windozzze

I'd suggest iPad and let her use your iTunes account for software, music. When myself & my S.O. both had iPhones, I had both phones using the same account (same e-mail, one credit card) so any purchased items could be used on both devices. I moved on from Apple but I think you can still do the same thing with her iPad.

Interesting idea...didn't know you could pair the accounts/devices that way. I assumed she would have to set up her own iTunes account.
