Are there any guitar gear nuts out there?

I'm in the process of sup-ing up my back up electric guitar in hopes that it will be my #1 guitar. I need some help in choosing pick-ups. It will be a two pick-up guitar. The bridge spot is already routed out for a humbucker. I am partial to the humbucker sound. It's a stratocaster style guitar with a floyd rose bridge. I'm thinking something similar to a les paul although I know I'll never get that sound without a fixed bridge. Any suggestions/advise?

If you can, I'd drop 'bucks in both (not quite a Les Paul sound, but I think you'll get better combinations than with a single coil). It's been a while, but I've always preferred EMG actives... the battery thing can be a little irritating sometimes, but I think they kick the heck out of anything passives will give you....

Have fun!
