Sam Kinison's career and life was cut way too short.
He was killed by a 17 year old drunk driver who faded and drifted over the yellow line into the opposite highway lanes and smashed head on into Sam's car. The kid got probation. Never did a day in jail.
Kinison was a former Pentecostal Preacher (can you imagine one of his sermons!?!?!??!?! Holy. Shit!!) His family never abandoned the church.
At the accident, as he lay dying, those around him confirmed that he seemed to be talking to someone and asked: "Why, why now?". He then said: "Ok, Ok" and passed away. Take that as you will.
Kinison's body was buried in a family grave plot at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His gravestone is inscribed with the unattributed quote: "In another time and place he would have been called prophet."
