1. Make sure to spay/neuter pets.

2. IMO, a pet should not be a disposable item, like tampons. If you're serious about providing life-long love and care for the animal, then by all means, go ahead and adopt/purchase a pet.

Otherwise don't bother, because after you're done playing with your "toy," it just ends up in the shelter again, or worse.

Believe it or not, some people get tired of their old cats, and trade them into the local pound for a new young kitten. These cats don't know why their lives have changed so much, and just want things back to the way they were. These older folks still have years of vibrant life ahead of them, and just need someone to make their lives full again. Don't let these lovely cats be forgotten forever, please contact us right away.

That is what is wrong with how people these days view animals, they are simple commodities. Products to be bought and sold. Don't like your current cat? Get a new one.

I have two dogs and a cat. One came from a breeder, one came from a farm and the other came from the shelter. I have two mutts and one purebred. I would never think of "exchanging" one, let alone exchanging one for another at a pound!

So are your post to the website, and what they do in favor of them or against them

I seem to find it very resourceful where I can be a foster home for a cat it might find a home or i might end up having it's life time or mine.

I am not yet sure what I need to really welcome a cat or even take care of one growing up I never had a cat but everyone else around me have cats. mostly tabbys, white ones or the orange and white ones or half tabbies.

Just lately I have been wondering about having a cat since when I do spend time at someone's house who does have a cat they seem to want to sleep on me.

I've found cats get more interesting the older they get. They seem to get smarter. Its hard for me to understand why someone would just abandon them like that.

It really is unbelievable why people would abandon cats or dogs. They are great animals. I don't know about other cats but mine is very smart and knows how to manipulate and play the game. People are amazed that he can play "fetch". He gets what he wants and he's gone. Hey, that's sounds like the majority of us men.

I know a few people that work with Toronto Cat Rescue and they do a great job finding homes for needy cats and taking care of those cats until they find a home.
For anyone looking for a pet this is a great site to start http://www.petfinder.com/
You can search by type, breed, etc., it's surprising (and sad) how many animals are available. You can generally find the perfect match for your home and lifestyle.

I just got two new female kittens after having to put down my old cat of 19 years last year. These kittens are great and really alot of fun, they also bug the hell out of the dog, but I think he enjoys their company. They are the first female animals I have ever had, so I will be interested to see if their personalities are any different from the male cats I have had before.

Was thinking also about my age and the age of these kittens. If they live a regular cat life their chances of outliving me are pretty good.

I might be interested if you throw in a few pounds of catfood
get a black cat if you can...they kick ass...male cats are totally hilarious.
cost of food isn't much of an issue...some places have 20 kg of good quality food for 35 bucks...mind you for one cat its a bit much...lasts more than a month...average cat takes 3/4 of a small 8 oz coffee cup o food a day...an moths might be attracted. was it the English who found the Black cats the opposite of unlucky!? >^_^<

Well on the annex cat resecue website I feel in love with a bunch of cute tabby's they are in a family of 4 but I can only take home too.

I am very new to this whole cat thing, I was in dollar rama and some interesting things in there for cats.

I am not trying to over think about the whole cat thing but I just want to make sure they feel right at home.

I know a guy that is moving to BC and is looking for a home for his two cats. Pm me if interested.

He can post them up on the cat rescue websites, and maybe a foster home will take them in til they are adopted.

I am looking for kittens.
