There is a scammer using a phone number 1-647-930-2093 which has SCOTIABANK above the numbers so it looks legit. DO NOT answer the phone. I called SB CS and they said that number is not a SB number.

BEWARE

I live in a small town and I know everyone at my local Scotiabank branch, in fact two of them are my neighbors.
If I ever get any calls from Scotiabank I simply tell them that I will walk into the branch and talk to them. I ask whom I am speaking to so that I can request a meeting.
Never have they provided me with a name, they simply hang up.

If your bank EVER calls you, ask them for the case ID and department, then call the number on the back of your card and cite it. NEVER let them ask you security verification questions unless YOU CALLED THEM.

Exactly. That goes for anyone that calls you asking for personal information, not just banks. Be especially aware of calls from revenue Canada or the RCMP.

I would never want my neighbours to know how much money I have in the bank.

I've gotten several bogus emails claiming to be from my bank. Is there anyway I can forward these bogus emails unopened to my bank?

Whether they are neighbors or not bank employees have access to your personal information. Your account balance as well as your contact information and your address are all in your file.
The positive thing about my situation is that living in a small town neighbors are your friends and we all look after each other. The trust level is high and deservedly so. I will never want to live in a metropolitan area again.

I once got an e-mail from ScotiaBank. I knew it was phishing because they spelled ScotiaBank wrong. I think they spelled it ScoitaBank. Even had the little red globe logo. Anyway, I agree. Call the number on the back of the bank card if you want to speak with them on the phone.

ScotiaBank is currently calling to sell life insurance products as well. That number just shows up as a regular 800 number, so I assume it's a telemarketing contractor. (I Googled the number). I just save those in my phone with a do not answer as the company name.

Exactly this. Had to do this earlier for my CIBC account. Turns out it was legit, but better to be safe.
