Aurora Reconsiders Using Machine Guns During Prostitution Stings
Suspect Stunned, Shot 3 Times In Back

AURORA, Colo. -- A police SWAT team that entered a hotel room where an unarmed man died during a prostitution sting were carrying submachine guns, not handguns that are easily holstered in cases where physical force is needed, Police Chief Dan Oates said Tuesday.

The findings of an internal review into the Dec. 3, 2003, death of Jamaal Allan Bonner, 20, have prompted a reconsideration of machine gun use during prostitution stings, Oates said.

Officers more than likely will carry handguns during similar arrests, Oates said after releasing a 116-page review of the shooting.
Police said Bonner offered crack cocaine to an undercover female officer posing on a street as a prostitute in exchange for sex. He followed the officer into a motel room where she went into a bathroom and signaled five SWAT officers who were in an adjacent room.

After the officers swarmed into the room, the unarmed Bonner was hit with a Taser weapon then shot three times in the back.

An Arapahoe County grand jury in 2004 cleared the officers involved in the shooting of any criminal wrongdoing.

Yes that is why I come here 4-5 times a year, although last three trips of 10-12 days been to Hamilton and Niagara Falls (where I am now) tend to prefer over Toronto.

But don't do anything in the U.S.,other than host the Phoenix Private List since 1996 - about 220 providers and 300 guys sharing info privately by weekly e-mail newsletter due to the high LE risks in the U.S. thanks to the religious right that makes laws to control people who would not voluntarily follow their sex negative views. Ironically they have no biblical basis.

Under the new Federal anti trafficking law lots more funds going to vice cops to go after private consenting adult sexwork. All sexwork is "trafficking" under new Federal Law. If it is coerced than its "extreme trafficking". As expected the religious right has gone crazy with laws to control us on their terms under the Bush administration.

All of which is why I enjoy the freedoms in the sexual area you have in Canada denied us in the "land of the free"

It isn't free here either, it's usually 200-250/hr.

Or $170/hr in Hamilton/Niagara Falls. But that is almost free compared to often $300+ for young attractive gals in the U.S. And for us from the states we still have about a 10% currency advantage - use to be almost 40% when I started coming to Canada around 2000.

That the cops over-reacted is a huge understatement, but it does pay to remember when around US police who have their guns drawn, always show your hands. Some of these guys will shoot you even if all you're doing is trying to stick your dick back in your pants.

A story too long to tell here, but I was in a situation one time where I could see how police can over-react. Long story short, a drunk slammed his car into my car that was parked in front of my house. Tracked him down to an apartment complex a few blocks away, and the cops take me along to ID the guy. He answers the door stark naked, and very obviously drunk. The cops ask me, is this the guy, old man maybe 60, but I knew it was him even without his clothes. I say yeah, we go in and then they ask him to put on his pants. He does, and then makes a big mistake. He pokes one of the cops with his finger and asks what the big deal is. They go nuts. One of them wrestles the guy down, while the other stands at the ready, hand on his holster. Meanwhile the doorbell rings, and as I was the only one not involved, answered it, and another cop stormed in. Finally they had the guy subdued, handcuffed, and face down in his shag carpeting, which I was concerned he might suffocate in. The cop who just came in asked the other two what just happened. One of them said, "he got froggy on us". They parade this guy out, barefoot with only his pants on, and then I notice his dick is out. I point this out to the cops, but as the guy was now handcuffed, nobody seemed much interested in sticking it back in.

Happened years ago, but true story. I'm not suggesting this is anywhere near as extreme as the topic of this thread, but it did give me a close look at how cops will go overboard.
