can someone recommend a good car insurance company for someone with a not so stellar driving record

Find a good broker and let him find one for you. PC insurance is the worst. Call for help and its all trained monkeys.

Those are the same two I would recommend. Although I don't know how they'll be for someone with a "not so stellar" record.

If you wish, PM me and I'll get you a place that takes on higher risks clients (ie. poor record, tickets...first time insured etc) They BROKER through different companies and depending on what your individual needs are, will find you the BEST company to suit YOUR needs...you obviously pay a bit more- but worth it.
