Once the little fuckers are exposed to natural daylight most of them are toast. Had a similar problem at my cabin. They stunk up the cabin with their piss and excrement in the roof. Racoon and bats are the bain of cottage owners.

A simple solution is to build bat houses. Yes, really. Then they don't need to seek shelter in an awkward place like a human house, and you still receive the benefit of their presence which is their voracious appetite for mosquitos and other flying bugs.
