Has anyone tried this site?
Lots of obscure torrents with ridiculously fast DL speeds advertised.

My main concern is how secure they are with CC info and if they put a cap on your DL with the $40/month membership fee.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. You saved me a BIG headache based on some of the posts I've read after googling Baydownloads. Seems like many people got fooled by Baydownloads search engine which basically shows a hit for pretty much anything you type.

Faster speed would be nice but primarily I want to find a torrent site that carries hard-to-find files (eg. foreign or older, dated material). If it's free, even better of course but if it's a legit site and fees are reasonable, I would have no problem with paying.

I'm not so big on newsgroups and newsreaders but I find for most things torrentz.com and torrentscan.com do a pretty good job overall, but sometimes the number of peers online is not as high as it could be.
Guess I'll stick with those for now, unless you know some newer ones.

Funnily enough I found a link to a site that posts PWs to get into Baydownloads for free and yep, once you become a member, their search engine can't find half the things you could find when you were just a guest. And they utilize rapidshare bigtime with no verification of files by users like you can get from mini and btjunkie.

why would you even consider paying for membership to a torrent site. if you want fast download speeds i suggest newsgroups.

www.giganews.com
I'll second that.
If you want fast downloads and no bogus files, newsgroups are the way to go.
I'd never pay a torrent site but www.giganews.com is great and GrabIt is a good free newsreader.
