listening to it now, been many years since I've listened to the album. Would have been back when I was more of a creative partier ......a few years ago....
had forgotten how different it really is

Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
Count how many times they say Yellow Submarine in the song......one of quite a few sappy songs the Beatles made. :(

Never was a fan of the sillier songs the Beatles did, nearly all of them generated by Paul. Still, Revolver in the original British release, was a great album.

Do tell. What is the difference between the original British release and what is available in North America now? Revolver is often referred to as a ground breaking album and one of the Beatles' best.

It's Ringo singing, what do you expect?
Lyrically it's a huge improvement over "Love Me Do", their first hit.

Love, love me do.
You know I love you,
I'll always be true,
So please, love me do.
Whoa, love me do.

Someone to love,
Somebody new.
Someone to love,
Someone like you.

I love the harmony in Yellow Submarine (oh, and those sound effects).

The UK release had 14 tracks, the US version only 11. Capitol records used to do that alot. They'd weed out songs from the British LP and release them as a compilation on another record to make more money. The three songs not on the US Revolver were included in the LP Yesterday and Today, which originally had the notorious butcher cover. I haven't bought the record in years, so it's likely now sold as EMI intended.

As far as albums go, I think it was the Beatles best. It had them truly playing together as a group, that was only sometimes duplicated after, and they were all peaking musically at the same time.
