With all the news about bed bugs, how likely is it that us hobbyist will eventually take these unwanted pets home with us? After all, with all the out calls in hotels, plus in calls, some one must be picking these critters up and transporting them from one place to another!

This is not to blame SP's or Agencies, because I guess that an OP can bring them to the SP, leave them behind, she then transfers them to the next OP and so on ... You get my point? How concerned should we be?

Hi everyone,

Actually I do worry about that.

In my incall, my sheets are changed at every appointment and my place is very clean. It's a must. All the gentlemen that did see me, will confirm that.

What worries me, it's when I tour other cities in hotel rooms. Even before this bed bugs story, I always checked the sheets, under the bed, towels, etc...but now, my inspection is more finicky. I don't want to bring little friends with me home. :hand:

I don't know, about other SPs or agencies, but I do assure that where I receive (home or hotel) it's impeccably clean!

It's important for both parties, don't you think?

Wouldn't crabs be worse ?
Yes they would, so would a lot of other disease's lol! Still, not only do you now have bed bugs, you have the cost of eradication! Which, from what I have read, is not a cheap under-taking, then for some of us, not me, explaining to your SO how you managed to bring these creatures home!

As well intentioned as you may be, I do not think that all your efforts would solve this problem. If I have bed bugs, I come to see you, leave them behind, I doubt all your efforts will eliminate what I have left behind. Change the sheets 1000 times a day will not solve it. I do like the effort you are putting in though, do not get me wrong, every little extra can not hurt! Please, keep up the good effort! I think this is a big problem myself, this is why I ask!

No, no I don't get you wrong!

I think that lots of people (SPs and hobbyists) do worry about this problem!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Just one more of the wonderful many things brought by travelers from 'developing countries' e.g., sars, emerald ash borer, snakehead fish and other invasive species.

Bed bugs can be picked up anywhere, so if you do bring them home it's not necesarily because you visited an SP or did an incall. They arent just in hotel rooms, you can get them at Drs office, lawyers office, the finest restaurant in town ect . all that needs to happen is someone sitting down leaves behind 1 and you sit in the chair next, guess what? good chance it will tag a ride from you to another location. Bed bugs are smart critters, they like to hide in cracks & crevaces and are ofen found down low on the box spring around the bed frames etc, so a quick look at the top & sides of the mattress isin't always enough/
DDT was the best defence against bed bugs because it had a long residual , it's just not the best enviromentally so it was banned.
