Anybody got/getting a call(s) from someone purporting to be from Bell? I got a call from a woman who spoke English with the usual accent claiming to be from Bell asking me to do something on my keyboard. When I asked her "How do I know you are actually from Bell? she hung up.

Just ignore any call you get from unknown numbers. If the call is important they'll leave you a voicemail.

I have a Pixel phone where that can screen calls before answering. The phone answers and send a canned response to them. I can see what the other end is saying and choose to accept the call.

Be careful about answering a phone call from Kim@HomeComfort asking to speak to the home owner. She will try to talk you into accepting their people to come into your home to inspect your water heater and then try to sell you expensive upgrades. I hang up on her all the time and tell her not to call again, even blocking her phone number. Yet she uses a new number to call all the time. She is more annoying than the air duct cleaners calling.

Or just don't answer calls from unfamiliar numbers.

Yeah, I got a few calls from her.

Then there are the people who say they will inspect your roof for free. I wouldn't be surprise if they will always find something "wrong" that needs fixing immediately.

Got another call from someone claiming to be from Amazon about my "purchase order".

Every time she calls I just say "what are you wearing? In a really creepy voice and she hands up. She keeps calling back though I think she's a bit of a freek

I love this!.

I wonder how "Dave" from Calcutta will feel when he next calls about air ducts and I ask him in a husky voice "What are you wearing?".

Thinking about it - will Dave then add me to his frequently call list?!?!? Not sure it's worth the risk :)

Funny story. A few months ago, I called Bell regarding an issue I had with my Bell Fibe account. Rep answered the phone, spoke fluent English. We chatted about my issue, he put me on hold and I could hear in the background chickens clicking, thought he had the tv on. He came back on the phone and resolved my problem. I asked where his location was and he said, in the backyard of his house in the Philippines with his chickens. LOL. At least he spoke good English.

Rogers just called. I worry about these cold calls and never provide any personal info because one never knows who is the actual caller.
