The problem is that most phone manufacturers bring out their phones for GSM first (bigger market). That's why Rogers is about 8 months ahead in Blackberry versions over Bell.
I guess I will give Rogers a look next time.
The only problem with changing providers is changing you number.

I wish they would pass legislation (as they did in US, I believe) where you can bring your number with you.

Changing my number is a huge headache. People like Bell know this I am sure and they would probably fight it. :(

I’m coming to the end of a two year cell phone plane with bell mobility and deciding whether to re-new with them or try Rogers.

Quite frankly, I wasn’t very satisfied with bell as the phone which I was using, an Audiovox was really bad in terms of it’s reception. My main concern for a phone is its ability to connect clearly in various locations. I can care less about the camera and other features. I have been given mixed opinions was to what is the better network to go with. Some say Rogers has stronger signals and therefore you get better reception and others say that it depends on the phone you have, and that the one I had was just a lemon.

So I am wondering if anyone whom may have had experience with both Rogers and Bell Cell phones can give me some advice as to which is better in terms of reception.
for the best reception on bell
go with the nokia 6016
or nokia 2125

My company is on a corporate plan with Rogers, I have a Blackberry that I use on this plan and so far it has given faultless service even in Australia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, UK and even Cuba! (Where there was a signal that is) Apart form the normal coverage in North America. Never had a problem with it.

I have no operating problems with Rogers. But their customer service is the WORST I have ever encountered.
I tried contacting them today to get a couple of my bills consolidated into one. After giving up on their ridiculous automated voice message system (which even apoligizes when you swear at it instead of saying the number you're calling from), I ended up talking to 6 different humans, got given another number to call and it was out of service, got transfered 5 times (once to a number that wouldn't accept incoming calls! A payphone???), and hung up on once.
45 minutes later, I cannot now recommend them to anyone.

Your best bet is to get a phone that fits best into your area......Bell has a couple of dead spots but so does rogers

i rack up about 2750-4000 minutes a month a with bell...........will not go back to rogers.

I just block my number.
There are a lot of SP's that won't take Blocked Numbers. Now your real name comes up with your number if it's not blocked. Bummer.

If they don't answer they loose out. I am not about to compromise my privacy, plus there are many that do answer.

I switched from Bell to Rogers so that I can use it in Europe. It works great there. I also found that the Rogers signal is much better where I live, 45 minutes away from downtown. Although, I am not sure if that improvement is due to my new phone or the Rogers network.
Remember Rogers took over AT&T in Canada long time ago and AT&T had a widest coverage in North America, tower wise!
That is why Rogers is the best in terms of coverage’s, out of town & on the road, where Telus & Fido ant’s working that well.
So if you mainly spend your time in town i.e., T.O. then it doesn't matter, FIDO, TELUS, Bell or Rogers are all good, thus it comes down to extra options& price otherwise go with Rogers for all over Canada/N.A. or Bell which has its own towers covering ON & QC provinces

I find Rogers to be flexible about bill payment. Once in a while I have forgotten to pay my Rogers bill on time. They have never suspended my service. A friend of mine who is with Bell has had their service suspended a couple of times for being a few days late.
I also think that compared to Bell Rogers Customer Service is better (once you get past the voice recognition part, which is a joke, only those with a pure Anglo- Saxon accent can get past that ).
It is easy, just press 0 and say "Agent" :)

I hate bell....

soooooo much I don't even use them at all anymore, not even home phone service. I use VOIP so I don't even have to give them a base monthly charge to have LD with someone else.
