Ernie is definitely the bitch, Burt with his uni brow is the pitcher. I saw a porn a few years back that verified this.
about 4 years i designed a tshirt , and sold the idea to a company in the states,
it read"bert and ernie are not gay, trust me", it had a pic of bert and ernie, and bert was holding ernies hand and in the other hand he was holding a baseball bat.
the shirt was only for sale , for like 2 months before the company got a cease and desist order from the childrens television workshop and pbs tv, i still have a copy of that framed and on the wall. long story short my shirt is no longer available, but its funny how little old me, got pbs pissed off at me

Come on, EVERYBODY knows Skipper molested Gilligan in that hut! Why do you think Gilligan was so jumpy and tense all the time? Who the hell allows another man to call him "little buddy" in public uless he's getting his ass owned?
The question can be asked in the muppets because some people rumored than Jim Henson was gay, hence the occurence of male pairs ( Bert & Ernie, Waldorf & Stadler) and androgeny (Big Bird) in his creative visions.
Some people theorize that when homosexuality was more taboo and marginalized, creative representations of same-sex pairs with no apparent love interests of the opposit sex were tacit implications of homosexuality.
I say Bert & Earnie were definitely code for a gay couple - with Bert being more the uncomfortable closeted type but definitely the top in the bedroom.
I also suspect that Kermit played hard to get to conceal his impotence issue, The Count was a pan-sexual, Gonzo was definitely a peepshow & adult theater regular, while the Swedish Chef mostly wanked to porn and occasionally hired an enema nurse.
