Taiwan has a functional democracy that works well for the Taiwanese. They don't care about Xi perfumed soldiers or Xi flexing his man boobs to show what a tough guy he is, no brutal dictatorship for them.Mr Lai makes Mr Xi look very bad and he knows it.
