Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have found a way of converting fructose og glucose to biofuel. The compound, dimethylfuran (DMF) has a 40 % higher energy density than Ethanol, and a higher boiling point than ethanol.
But the biggest advantage of DMF is that it does not dissolve in water and is very easy and cheap to separate.
