Help save a dying company?

Buying any BB now would be buying an obsolete product.

The future of the company depends on its next OS and line of hardware. And that apparently won't be coming out for a while.

But hey, if you get a BB, I'll give my shitty playbook for cheap.

Blackberry. It's the best device out there for messaging and battery life and the next version will be a huge hit. I'm sticking with them and you should too.
That's your opinion. Mine is based on 11 years of loyal blackberry usage, from the original pager to the 9900. I would like nothing more than to see RIM kick ass and dominate. But it hasn't and there is absolutely no indication that it will. Even if it does, it has lost so much momentum. It's no longer about maintaining or gain market share. Any new product will be about recovering lost market share first and foremost.

The battery on my 9900 lasts about 7 hours through light usage. I have a friend who is a heavy user and she tells me that she has to do at least 3 battery swaps per day.

I do like the keyboard for messaging. However, I have been using an iphone since January and the touchscreen typing is very easy to adapt to.

I'm not sure what you base your comment about the next OS being a "huge hit" upon. If RIM is going to win back consumers, it's going to have to come out with some true gamechangers. I have not heard anything to suggest that it will be revolutionary or offer any "must have features". Indeed, the last thing I heard just this week is that it will have adaptive/predictive typing...like what the Pearl had years ago?

Blackberry great organizer and phone qualities are exceptional over their rivals. If you have a busy schedule a Blackberry will organize you if you want multimedia Android. I'm using an iPhone right now for multimedia 4" screen is the biggest you should get as a phone IMO.

Blackberry. It's superior for business use, i.e. email, calendar, contacts, etc.

Blackberry is far from dead, struggling in North America but still dominant in most other parts of the world. The new OS will succeed and they will rebound.

and it's always better to support Canadian companies where you can.

Always amazes me to see people championing the demise of Canadian companies.

If you wait a little while you will be able to get a blackberry for a really, really cheap price.

Tell us what you use the device for.

Also, tell us if you could, what would you change about your current device. Besides, being water-proof.

Depends on whether you are looking for a tool or a toy. BB is a tool and iPhone is a toy. Secured corporate emails are best with BB. JMHO.

Just wait, many corporations have their top execs telling their IT teams make my iphone work with the corporate mail server, hence the BYOD (d for device) generation starts now. the only reason to keep blackberry now would be if you use BBM, else you are losing out on so much integration between the apps. left BB for good when i could open powerpoint attachments which i do easily on my iphone and can pinch and zoom. surfing... well lets not even go there about the differences

TOOLS NOT TOYS ... was Blackberry's best advertising campaign. I am faithful blackberry user for business there is nothing that responds, syncs, and works efficiently as a blackberry.
I was a long time BB user. My first one was their monochrome screen.

At the office, when many of us were on BB, JVM errors, memory leaks and other crap was a common occurrence.

Now I'm on an iPhone and its my daily driver.

Don't let some teeny boppers be the face of Apple. 8)

BYOD might fizzle out, as corporations realize the cost of managing it, keeping data secure on a device that IT doesn't control, etc. Seems like a good idea, but it remains to be seen whether it will replace IT supplied and managed devices.

Either or, both are great.

Battery life is always better with BB over any of the touch screen droids or fruity phones.

whey you say a fruity phone, do you mean by that a phone that has a screen big enough for internet as opposed to BB?
