Anyone out there ever been blackmailed by a driver? Just curious how something like that would be handled!

Wear a tape recorder when talking to him. Then you could threaten to report him to the cops. Blackmail is against the law, and he probably has a record. He'll probably high tail it and move on to easier game.

Of course driving in this city is pretty dangerous. He could have an accident......

I guess my paranoia got the better of me! It's just that in my experiences, I've found that drivers are sometimes privy to sensitive info, such as addresses and phone numbers. Not to mention times and dates! What I should have asked to start this thread was would a driver ever be that foolish to try to burn anyone, given the very nature of this business and the people involved! My bet is he would only do it once! Any thoughts?

I was a driver in Ottawa for 2.5 years. We had 15 drivers on the road 18 hours a day 7 days a week. The turn over was high. Must have been through 50-75 drivers while I was there. While some were a bit 'seedy' and maybe 'living in the fast lane' I don't think any I ever met would ever resort to any thing like blackmail.
