Blues Dominate Leafs!

It was much worse than than the 3-2 overtime victory margin indicates. The Leafs were outplayed by the Blues in every phase of the game; they had only one shot on goal (yes, a total of one; this is not a typo) during their seven power plays. GO BLUES!!!

Yeah but they looked pretty good at the end of the third period killing off the penalty. Made it look like the Leafs had a PP rather than the other way around.

Ha!Ha! I watched the game....every minute! I saw a slow Toronto defense, a Toronto team that was outshot by more than a two to one margin in the final two periods of regulation, an inept Toronto power play that had ONE shot in fourteen minutes with the man advantage, a Blues' penalty kill that lived up to its number one ranking, and a very lucky Toronto team that escaped with one point for the overtime loss. ---Dr. Moe

P.S. I read the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Dr. Moe: Haven't you learned that even when the Leafs lose, it's because of the fact that they played good? Obviously:

a) the ref's are out to get them (I heard Jim Ralph mention this often last night)
b) the scorekeepers can't add, because the Leafs obviously out-played the other team
or...
c) the other team got lucky

*basks in the Senators 1 game unbeaten streak*
*laughs at Leaf's 1 game losing streak*

Blues defence blocked I can't recall how many for Osgood...

Kathleen you are an amazing woman, no too many people would have picked that up. Truth be told that was the difference in the game.

I felt sorry for Tom Fitzgerald taking that 4min high sticking penalty. It was an accident & just a reaction but he should remember...nothing good can happen when your stick is that high in the air.

Sorry, Kooley......Kathleen......

Yes, "dear", I read your original post quite thoroughly. I did, however, misinterpret Kooley's comment. Sorry, Kooley! No explanation of the underlying dynamics is necessary. We both obviously know that blocking shots is a vital part of the game; there is no need to be condescending, "dear". No, the game was not as close as the scoreboard indicated. The Blues outplayed the Leafs in all areas and dominated them in all areas with the exception of in goal!

One overtime loss in December after eight strong wins shouldn't be a crisis. If anything, a blueprint for what they'll face in the playoffs.

As for ol' Ralphie, he's a hoot. The man gets his bowels in an uproar at each and every Leaf penalty. I wonder what game he watches sometimes...
