Bob Cole would be better on the radio.
The game he calls on HNIC never matches the one I'm seeing. He calls it more like the way he wants to see it.
If it wasn't for Harry Neale, I couldn't stand it.
And BTW, Glenn Healy sucks. Needs to be replaced too.

Both Bob & Harry should be put out to pasure.
Calling the wrong players names all the time; calling the wrong penalties. Putting them on the radio would be worse. At least on TVyou can ignore them and make the correction in your head. With radio, you are left to rely on what the announcer is saying. Maybe keep them on with the 'seven second delay' to correct their screw-ups.
I too think Jim Hughson is the guy for the job. Or even Paul Romanuk.

Any serious NHL fan will scream out "Hit em Domi", "Move your ass Antropov", or "WTF are you doing Berg?"

I too believe Bob Cole should go. He does have agreat voice and has been the voice of HNIC for as long as I remember, but his time has come and gone. Cuthbert though I am not too fond about. His voice is just too damn high pitched for my likeing. If you have noticed over the past 2 seasons, Cole has been replaced/demoted to the 2nd telecast on more than a few occasions while Cuthbert has been given the lead game. Grooming him I guess for the "passing of the torch". Its sad though for Cole. With age coming on, his mind is not as sharp as it used to be and his mistakes are becoming all the more common.
My vote would be for Jim Hughson. Jim Hughson is perfect. I loved him when he was on TSN a few years back. If not him then Romaniuk would be great too. But CBC please spare us from Cuthbert!!!

I personally like Cuthbert, just because he is enthusiastic and doesnt screw stuff up like Cole...

I would rather have hockey games telecast on the sports channels as opposed to the CBC.
During the play-offs the coverage of all games is horrible when telecast by the CBC. They will not show other games that are going into overtime, for some goofy reason they switch to the news (and do not allow other networks to telecast those games). Christ they have a news channel already not to mention the news is on every other channel on the tube. Also, the CBC does not dare try out any new camera angles. ESPN has much better coverage with some interesting camera angles.
However, getting back to theme of the thread, Cole sucks the pipe big time, Cuthbert is too "Hickish", Neale is a good colour man for Bowen and Jim Hughson is probably the best voice in the business (Hughson used to do Blue Jay games on TSN)

I agree with the_big_E, Pierre McGuire is Loud and annoying and anyone can read a cue card! Pierre fluked a cup in Pittsburgh when he was a former Penguins assistant coach.

Harry Neale is funny and knowledgeable, but I am not sure who would be best suited with him. I seriously hope that the CBC gets rid of Bob before this years playoffs.
