It seems after all the government money Bombardier has received over the years they have no real loyalty to Canada. The Valcort, Quebec plant of Bombardier Recreational Products, which makes personal water craft, is closing its doors and moving the production to Mexico. BRP is a separate company from Bombardier, having left the parent in 2004, but Bombardier is still a major shareholder in this enterprise. Bombardier already employs 1500 people in its Mexican operations.
Bombardier reports that there will only be a loss of 500 jobs, mostly from retirements, in this process.
