Ahhh, your post caught my attention. I fought as an amateur a few years back and trained at allot of gyms across the Toronto area. Most boxing gyms do have woman training there and have some good programs. Cabbage Town is a good one to train at and here is a list of some others:
EMBA – Egerton Marcus boxing academy. Egerton Marcus is a former professional fighter who fought for a world title. He is an excellent trainer and is currently training his cousin Troy Ross, the current Canadian Cruiserweight champion. The gym is located at: 37 Hanna Ave Suite 211, Toronto.
Sulley's Gym – Back in the day this was a really good hard core gym, but now it seems to be the preferred gym for metro police officers ( both men and woman) to train at. The trainer is Tony Morrison, a former Canadian Heavyweight champion and all around great guy. The gym is located at: 53 Fraser Street, downtown Toronto.
Unitas Athletic Club – This gym was originally located at Queen and Broadview and was one of the best gyms in Toronto when it was run by the late Tony Unitas. All of Canada’s top fighters, including Lennox Lewis trained there at one time or another. Not sure exactly where it is located now and who is running it, but last I heard it was somewhere in the East Toronto area and was more of a yuppie gym.
HUFF Executive fitness – This is a really great gym which is own by a good friend of mine Andrew Heron and his wife Olga. Olga is a professional boxer and she trains woman fighters at the gym. However it is located in Mississauga so it is a bit out of your way.
Hope this helps. If you need any other info, PM me.
