I an considering Braces for my teeth. What should I know? How long will it take? How many different types of braces are there, which ones are better?

all depends on how much your teeth need to be moved,on average these days 1- 2 yrs is the norm.

mind you when I was a kid i had them for 3 and my poor buck toothed brother 6,but they have come along way since then.

I also had them for 3 years and then a retainer for another 2 years. My teeth were so screwed up I had to have 5 teeth pulled before we even started just to make room for it to work.

I got mine off @ x-mas lat year and I am so glad I got them. They don't get in the way as much as peole think (the worst is no cornon the cob @ the cottage). Spend the money and see a good ortho, you won't reget it.
