It would be great if the war ends.

Some minor details of Russia-Ukraine peace agreement still to be decided, official notes

Ukraine has agreed to a peace deal that would see an end to the war with Russia, a U.S. official told Fox News.

Some minor details of the agreement are still to be sorted out, the official said.

Lt. Col. Jeff Tolbert, a spokesman for U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, had told Fox News that Driscoll and his team met with Russian officials in Abu Dhabi on Monday and Tuesday to discuss the framework for a Ukraine peace deal.

"The talks are going well and we remain optimistic. Secretary Driscoll is closely synchronized with the White House and the U.S. interagency as these talks progress," said Tolbert.

A U.S. official told Fox News that the Ukrainian delegation was also in Abu Dhabi and was in contact with Driscoll and his team.

The diplomatic flurry over the weekend followed the leak of the 28-point peace plan to Axios, which many European leaders and U.S. lawmakers viewed as largely favorable to Russia.

Rep. Don Bacon, R-Neb., said on X that the initial proposal by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff was a "surrender document for Ukraine that would have left it at the mercy of Russia for decades to come."

He said the latest version, developed with Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s involvement and input from Ukrainian and European officials, was a better plan.

"We must stand on [the] side of freedom & rule of law," Bacon wrote.

Ukraine's decision to agree to the deal came hours after Russia launched an overnight attack on Kyiv that killed at least six people and injured 13,

The strikes on residential buildings and civilian infrastructure came as U.S. and Ukrainian officials met over the weekend in Geneva to discuss the 28-point peace plan being pushed by the Trump administration to end the nearly four-year war.

Rustem Umerov, Ukraine's secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, cited the talks in Geneva in addressing his country's agreement to major parts of a peace plan.

"We appreciate the productive and constructive meetings held in Geneva between the Ukrainian and U.S. delegations, as well as President Trump’s steadfast efforts to end the war," Umerov wrote on X. "Our delegations reached a common understanding on the core terms of the agreement discussed in Geneva. We now count on the support of our European partners in our further steps."

Umerov added that his country looks forward to Zelenskyy visiting the U.S. "at the earliest suitable date" in order "to complete final steps and make a deal with President Trump."

What we're covering
• Ukraine has agreed to a deal to end the war with Russia with only “minor details” outstanding, a US official said, even as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said more work needed to be done.

• It comes as US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll holds meetings with Russian officials in Abu Dhabi about a proposed plan for ending the war, according to a US official.

• Russia though could reject an amended US peace plan if its terms are “fundamentally different” to the understanding reached during the US-Russia summit in Alaska, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

Meanwhile, Russia and Ukraine traded deadly strikes overnight, killing at least seven people in Kyiv. NATO fighter jets were scrambled in Romania after at least one Russian drone entered its airspace.

They're spinning it like Trump is surrendering to Putin.
What they dont realize Russia is slowly winning the war, and could take all of Ukraine within next couple of years
Trump is actually saving what's left of Ukraine...Zelensky has really n o choice this time or Trump will let him fight it out with Putin...Trump is giving him a way to save face. But IMO, he's done...he won't win the next election.

So Ukraine isn't agreeing with the peace deal? You mean they want to prolong this war?
I suspect those who want to prolong the war are in the minority among Ukrainians.
Those cheering the proxy war NATO's side are the ones to be disappointed if Trump's
peace deal is accepted.

Look at Franky for instance...as long as Trump doesn't get the goal to achieve peace between Ukraine and Russia, he's happy for the war to keep going and more Ukrainians and Russians dying...pathetic.

You mean Putin's deal?
trump stopped supplying Ukraine and now its the EU that is providing funding for the war.
So why should Zelensky care what Putin's puppet says?

US has no obligation to supply Ukraine franky. US can easily step away and let EU and Ukraine duke it out with Russia. Ukraine is free to refuse the deal too. Why don't you pick up the phone and call Zelenssky how you feel about the offer.

Finland could become the first casualty of Ukraine's submission to Trump's
peace deal. They will have to fence the entire border with Russia lest Putin
will move on to teach his Finnish neighbors a lesson.

Finland begins building fence just one metre from Russian border

25 November 2025

Finnish authorities have started building a fence just one metre from the country’s border with Russia, Yle reports.

According to a spokesperson for Finland’s Border Guard, cameras will be installed at intervals along the barrier to ensure “constant monitoring of the eastern border.”

The northern region of Lapland is reported to be almost ready, with final inspections scheduled for 9 December. Officials expect the fence to be completed by summer 2026.

The Finland–Russia border stretches over 1,300 kilometres. However, the government will not be able to fence the entire length due to financial constraints, with construction costs estimated at around €1.8 million per kilometre.

The completed sections of the barrier are expected to exceed 200 kilometres, at a total projected cost of approximately €362 million.

It's just business: Trump aims to gain access to $300 billion of frozen Russian assets - this is the hidden motive behind his "peace plan", - Foreign Policy

Ukraine has been on a shopping spree lately. On Nov. 17, Kyiv announced plans to buy up to 100 French-made Rafale fighter jets over the next 10 years. Just a few weeks earlier, the Ukrainian government had disclosed a similar deal to purchase up to 150 Swedish Gripen jets.

These announcements were not made at random: Ukraine has recently made a point of showing European Union countries that it would make good use of Russia’s immobilized central bank reserves if the bloc were to finally seize and transfer these assets to Kyiv’s coffers.

However, the U.S.-Russia plan to end the war has other ideas for the future of these assets As the publication writes, in the scheme described in the document, the US effectively gains control over these funds, although it owns only 1.5% of the frozen assets itself. According to the plan, American companies receive $100 billion for the "reconstruction of Ukraine," and the US government gets half of the profits from the projects. About $200 billion is intended to be used in a joint American-Russian investment instrument.

Meanwhile, European taxpayers are expected to cover additional costs for Ukraine's reconstruction.

FP notes that this structure explains Trump's rush to conclude the agreement. For Ukraine, handing over these assets under US control would mean losing the only reliable source of funding - the EU reparations loan, which is secured by the frozen Russian assets.

At the same time, the fate of the plan, according to the publication's assessment, depends on whether the EU can quickly confiscate Russian assets and direct them to Ukraine, which would render the key point of the American-Russian scheme meaningless.
