Big head versus little head.I spent $175 on a single dress shirt this past week (more because I needed too rather than wanted to), and regretted that purchase by next morning.
Yet, I can drop $250 on an SP and not think twice about it afterward....![]()
Weird?
Well $175 is still overpriced for an SP so if you have money to burn, why sweat it?I spent $175 on a single dress shirt this past week (more because I needed too rather than wanted to), and regretted that purchase by next morning.

Sometimes I do stupid things too: $250 for a flowery silk blouse at Holt Renfrew. Being seated for dinner, beside a woman wearing same blouse at Four Seasons Truffles - priceless.Interesting comparison.
Off hand, a buck 75 for a dress shirt is not out of the park. Go into Holt Renfrew and see what women drop on a blouse. It will make your head spin.
Clothes are tricky things to buy.
Not stupid at all. $250 gives you bragging rights. $400 gives you even more bragging rights. Hee, hee, hee.Sometimes I do stupid things too: $250 for a flowery silk blouse at Holt Renfrew.
cotton=breathDo they still make shirts that are a polyster/cotton blend? I hate these 100% cotton shorts because they don't "breathe".
You've got that right... (Although this is far from obvious brand-name mark-up)there are no guarantees that a $200 dress shirt is any better than an $80 dress shirt.
Same could be said for an SP,without the remorse.Well consider it this way. That shirt is good for many uses so long as you don't stain it, shrink it or get fat.

lol I have the same problem, stupid poker but lately I've been doing the mini bacc 25-200 a hand no though otherwise....Cognitive Dissonance is an interesting phenomenon. I'll often complain about the price of groceries going up by a few dollars, but happily throw $15 into a pre-flop hand to see if a 5-7 off suit hand will hit on the flop.
Ridiculous.
