Any suggestions as alternatives to Rogers or Bell

I'm with Sympatico, actually one of the first subscribers.

I'm speaking today about Bell and their service as I've found it today.

The customer service is in India. They have many personnel that understand English but with the heavy accent it's difficult to understand them. FACT AND NOT A RACIST COMMENT.

Over the years I've learned to let them go to a point in customer service and let them remove certain problems, then, with the limited knowledge I have picked up, I can take it the rest of the way.

Don't misunderstand. They are very willing to help with a problem but seem to have one fundamental hang up. "Ok Mr. __________ disengage your firewall/router.

Say what! Leave me open to attack.

Thankfully by this point I usually know where the problem lies.

Downtime and speed have never been a real problem.

I've never had any experience with Rogers...

If you are talking for televison service I recommend buying an HD TV with an ATSC tuner and pick up uncompressed HD signals for free with a UHF antenna. The signal is digital so it is clear not like it used to be with ghosting etc.

StarChoice. All Canadian. I gave up on Rogers Cable and have been with StarChoice for two years and have never looked back. They even adjusted my bill downward, without my even asking, when one of the specialty channels that I had paid extra for became part of a package. That is honest business, looking out for the customer.
