then I suggest a Jack Danials or Southern Comfort and brown sugar glaze. Use 1/4 cup of either and thicken it with brown sugar or bread crumbs (unflavored). Add allspice and a tad of cayanne pepper. to the mix. Slow roasting over a with a fire will cause it to crust and provide you with a succlant piece of meat. Cook it untill the thickest part reaches 160 degrees. The end pieces withh be well and the center will be medium rare

As for the mushrooms you can do a nice wine glaze for them

Saute them in clarified butter, alspice and a bit of fresh lime or lemmon juice. when tender remove mushrooms from pan and add 1/2 cup of a dry white wine to the pan, when wine com begins to boil add 1/4 cup of unflavored breadcrumbs (if too thicK add more wine). Let this mixture reduce down to a creamy mixture and remove from heat. Place mushrooms on a treadted or lightly greased cookie sheet. Pour wine mixture over ecah mushroom and sprinkle with grated aged rammano cheese and parsley top with pepperika for color. Back at 425 untill the cheese begins to brown. Serve on a bed of greens

With all the "experts" on everything here, I'm surprised no one's given you a gourmet French recipe that caused a flame war over politics!

Then again, TERBites tend to be geeks, so cooking isn't a strong point.

Wow, men who cook! Will you guys rub each other's beef too LOL

Men who love to "eat" also love to simmer their food in its own juices.

prime rib

I like your rub, but you should bbq it - not in the oven - that's the very, very best way to do prime rib.
