So due to some urgent personal issues I am in need of a loan.

Can someone recommend a private lender that charges a reasonable interest rate?

Please PM

Thanks!

Mbna or capital one, you just need a pulse I believe. The rate well that's another story. Try kijiji.

If you own a home with some built up equity in excess of any debt that may be registered against it, have reasonable stable income, and an acceptable credit record, most independent mortgage brokers may be able to help you out, either with an "alternative" institutional lender or a private lender.

If there is no property to use as collateral you will have a problem getting any significant size loan.

What do you think is a "reasonable interest rate"?

There are many sources of short term financing, but yout interest rate will depend mainly on (1) your assets and income [job secuity] and (2) credit history.
Other factors are (1) what you want/need the money for and (2) how much you want to borrow.

This is probably out of the question for you, but TD Bank is currently offering some long term clients a fixed rate of 3% for one year on their existing credit lines. Of course they're hoping that at the end of the year, you will not have paid it off and your loan will revert to a "regular" credit line loan where the current rate is about 6.5%.
