I have a question, I am buying a truck with a friend (2 actually) can the truck be in all of our names? On the wnwer ship , then do we all have to be on the insurance even if some are not driving it? New does it cost to put more than one mane on a truck and where and when do they sign? Thank you in advance!

Yes you can have more than one person as the owner of the vehicle. I have seen 2 names, not sure about 3 names. Should not cost more than a single name registration.

If you're listed as the/an owner, you have an owner's responsibilities. Doesn't matter that you and your buds all knew you'd never drive; the law has no way of knowing that. Ponder the consequences: owners are responsible for tickets, and for damages. And who gets to sell the truck if you leave names off? Or collect the insurance if it's stolen or damaged?

You've got a partnership going here; it would be very wise to put the deal between you on paper and all sign it. Even wiser to have a lawyer's help.

And don't even think of not insuring every one of you that might drive the thing.

Also be aware if you put multiple names on the truck then you also have to have multiple names on the insurance, the plates, etc.

This can cause problems down the line if the other person isn't readily available to approve and/or sign off on things.
