Can you program Google Maps?

Meaning like, if I want to take certain roads on my trip, can I manually create a route?

The most accurate road maps that provide alternate routes are MapQuest and Waze.
Google maps do not work for me. I find them inaccurate and unable to take me to the destination I request in a large city.
I have been unable to create a custom routing on mobile apps.

Yes. There is an add stop option
Use it to force the route you want.

After you get too directions… click the 3 dots top right corner. Route options let’s you avoid tolls, or choose them for quicker travel.

below the Route Options, is “add stop”.

Google owns and powers Waze, but it is different than Google Maps because of the shared updates of things like stalled cars or speed traps.
