Canada 2nd to worst for carbon spewing in G-7

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pitches Canada as a global climate leader, one that’s adopted ever-bolder climate targets and policies under his watch. But Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions tell an entirely different story. And it’s a dirty one at that—dirtier even than that of its carbon-spewing neighbor to the south.

Canada’s peers in the Group of Seven, or G-7, have managed to achieve economic growth while simultaneously cutting emissions. But Canada’s environmental commissioner says the country is struggling to bend the curve. Among the G-20 nations, Canada ranks behind only Saudi Arabia when it comes to per capita emissions. - Bloomberg 10/20/2022

And Saudi Arabia is one exporter of oil to Eastern Canada.
We deserve each other as trading partner. At least blatant
climate hypocrisy is not what guide Saudi's energy policy.
With climate hypocrites like Justin Trudeau, Steven Guilbeault
and Jonathan Wilkinson in charge of nation's climate policy
you can rest assured Canada will continue to be one of the
world's major contributor to global warming by virtue of gasoline
gluttony of its climate sheeple citizens and unrestrained export
of coal, oil and gas.

We have homes to heat, and longer travel distances for less product. We will always be that way.

we also have over 300 billion trees to absorb it.

Notwithstanding the fact Co2 emissions do not cause any harm & are really a benefit for plant growth:

it is always colder in Canada vs G-20
We have more Co2 absorbing trees thank any country (save Russia)

Per capita is a ridiculous value as countries like India / China get to virtue signal for having excessive population growth
Real pollution such as smog & water contamination is proportional to population

Someone ought to explain to Trudeau's climate sheeple voters why they
are duped by his 40% emission reduction target by 2030.
It's a "stretch goal".

Who cares about per capita. On an absolute basis I believe Canada emits just over 1% of the world's total carbon dioxide emissions. We're irrelevant.

I agree the real problem is over population

if a fraction of the money being wasted trying to control our uncontrollable climate was spent on educating women in the 3rd world , it would have dramatic impact on the world birth rate

That's the oldest truism: increasing standard of living decreases the birth rate among humans.

We've already fixed acid rain and the ozone hole, why do you think climate change can't be worked on?
