I was watching Saved By The Bell this morning (for nostalgia's sake) and was startled to see not one, but two references to Canada in general and Toronto specifically.

Zack was dressed up as a soldier impersonating Slater (who was trying to avoid going to military school) and he suggested they invade Canada and "hide in the woods outside of Toronto." I did a double take when I heard it, rewound, and watched it again. Then a minute later there was another reference to invading Toronto.

The interesting thing was that the guy who plays Zack pronounced Toronto like the natives do, as in To-ron-o rather than the way tourists normally do, To-ron-Toe.

Which makes me think either Zack has been to Toronto or the show had a Canadian writer on the staff.

Haha I was watching that this morning too but I only caught the tail end of that episode. I've seen it in the past but don't recall that reference.

I must say though I prefer the episodes with Kelly and Jessie as opposed to this Tori girl.

The wikipedia article is interesting when it comes to Tori. Apparently the show doubled the number of episodes for the final season but Kelly and Jesse wouldn't sign on for the extra episodes so half of the final episodes had Tori instead of the other two girls. The episodes got mixed together for airing and there was never any reason given to why the other two girls didn't appear in some episodes and why Tori didn't appear in the rest. The final episode made no mention of what ever happened to Tori.

One thing's for sure... the residuals the cast gets from the series must be HUGE due to syndication.

I remember the original Good Morning Miss Bliss that aired on the Disney Channel (and was absolutely horrible) and led to the retconning of the show with the cast everyone now remembers.

Interesting.

I remember the original too. Miss Bliss was played by Hayley Mills and it had Zack, Screech and Lisa and another two characters - an hispanic boy and an italian girl I think. Mr Belding was a character as well if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, they were pretty bad.

You should see Mark Paul Gosselar now, he looks like a hippie (long hair and glasses).
