It's a reallllll long story, but I'm looking for a real school strap from back in the days when teachers could set students straight. From what I understand, What a "canadian school strap" is is a strap made from three layers of rubber with a canvas backing. I might be looking for a Canadian prison strap too, though I'm not sure how they're made.

The only place I could find was this online store in NY, USA. So there would be a nasty duty charge most likely, however the exchange is pretty good right now...

I got the "slugs" once in Grade 2. I was 7 and got three whacks on each palm for the mortal sin of, get this, throwing snowballs against a brick wall (no windows) at school.

You can make a mould from my hands and ass from the imprints the strap left and then make your own strap, lol. Got it a few times in elementary school. I was innocent, really, it wasn't me who pulled the fire alarm, it was my friend but he bolted after he did it and I was just standing there when the principal came out of his office, didn't matter I got it, big time.
Come to think of it, I wonder how many (*if* any) professional dominatrix types around town actually use vintage, authenticated school straps--it'd make sense if they "trickled down" like that.

I got the strap in Grade 2 as well.
It was freezing cold and I didn't have a warm coat or boots at lunch time so I snuck into the school and stood at the entrance.
That was the final straw for them.
I've heard tales about the prison straps. It was probably in one of Roger Caron's books. Totally different from a principal's weapon, these things were about the size of a razor strop, but much thicker.

The same site is posted above. They have some scary "toys" on tht site. THe prison strap isn't the only thing rated "extreme"

Edit: Even on that site, didn't they say that the penitentiary service eventually set a 10 stroke limit on the strap? I need to go back and look at it again, but I think it suggested that an inmate would need days to get back on his feet after a long hard strapping. I seem to recall some tough old keepers pining for the good old days when inmates weren't even permitted to chat among themselves, and could be strapped if they got caught yapping.
Edit #2: on the linked page (corpun?) it quoted somebody as saying that you could probably lay down 5 strokes on the buttocks before the stripes began to overlap, and that after 5 strokes, you were pretty sure to get some bleeding. If you find the link to Roger Caron's experience, he says that they strapped a big metal kidney guard across his back before they got started; presumably that practice was a reaction to too many inmates pissing pink after their strappings.

Go to the Kingston Pennitentary Museum Site They show straps and the "strapping table" where a guy would be shackled then laid out on the table secured with belts then would receive his alloted number of strokes on the bare ass.

That's not so bad. Why just last year they downgraded the prisoners in Ontario to basic cable.:Eek:
Holy crap! I can't believe that my grade school had the prison strap! I just thought it was a regular issue school strap. Our principal must have been a sadist. Then again maybe the school secretary used it on him!
