Was surfing the forums and Canbest posted the following message:

"Sorry. The Canbest Discussion Forum is closed until further notice."

Wonder what happened, it was working yesterday, and it did appear to be having less frequent postings of late. Anyone know what`s going on ?

The rest of the site is still up, so perhaps the forum will be back.
I have not seen anything interesting on Canbest in a long time, and I very rarely even take a quick look anymore.
I wonder if there were actually people who paid memberships for Canbest, and if so, why?

Sounds like a plan. You know if Canbest had a few posters like Alien to put some life, entertainment and wisdom (can`t forget that) into the forum it may still be up and running.

Apparently Canbest's online Adult Store makes some money.

A while back I got an email from delta9 and he was considering closing the forums as he did not have the time to watch the posts.
Maybe he finally decided to close shop.

The "Membership Drive" pop-ups were on for over 6 months, and without the income to support D9's time to monitor the forums, I can understand why the descision may have had to be made.

Too bad. I have nothing but mad props and much respect for D9, and CanBest is where I met practically everyone that I know on this board. Hope it all comes together again.

Canbest was great in its day. But then along came TERB ...

I don't think for a moment that TERB was created to kill Canbest, but ultimately that is what happened. Life over here just became more interesting than on Canbest.

At one time you could post on Canbest and your posting would immediately appear,then it became a week or more sometimes before it would appear,that certainly didnt help matters,as Top Jimmy said,Canbest is where most of us first met each other,oh well,Im sorry to see its forums close down.

Yeah, had a real blast over there. I met almost everyone I know from this board at a Birthday bash for Delta9 at the Pro. I still have dancers that won't talk to me to this day thanks to that...

DenWa: Thanks for the props, have been using the name for a while. Used to get some abuse for being under age, since the accompanying email was TopJimmy1984@... and (at the time) folks thought I was 16! Christ, I was older than that when I saw VH at MLG in 1984!
