White lithium grease in an areosol can is the usual lube.

WD 40 is actually mostly varsol a water displacer. It has a tendency to slowly evaporate over time. The name actually means Water Displacement, 40th attempt.

As well, because of the silicone in it, it is bad for your paint. It absorbs into the paint. If you need a panel repaired because of an accident, and the silicone has absorbed into the paint, it will cause fisheyes in the paint.

Doors are optional. Rip it off and eliminate the squeak. Plus yu get some great looks while driving down a highway.

I recommend WD40 and Duct Tape for all auto repairs.
If it moves and shouldn't use the tape.
If it should move and doesnt use the WD40.
