Saw on news today the CFL and XFL have been in discussion over the past few months. Should be interesting to see the outcome of this one. This brings back bad memories of the venture into the US a few years ago.

I hope not...XFL is a cartoon league, CFL must be in trouble if they're talking to those clowns.

This would be about as important as Nicolas Cage calling a press conference to announce a new action flick starring himself and Steven Seagal. Totally irrelevant to any entertainment question, zero attendees.

In the world of sports, this is the absolute opposite of news anyone cares about.

The CFL is being hit the hardest, gridiron football is a super-spreader sport. The death rate in the USA would not have spiked so badly had the NFl cancelled the season, not to mention the NCAA.

The opposite of news that anyone cares about is what you think about it...

Source?

The thread you started before the season started was BS just as this post is. In fact there is evidence that football didn’t cause much of an uptick at all

Guys, the league is in trouble like it’s been a million times before, but this time it’s probably a much more dyer situation. You can’t blame for kicking tires on this. I’m a actually intrigued by the idea.

The correlation between coronavirus deaths and the NFL meshes. In early 2020 Covid - 19 started to spread on March 2020, there was a slowdown during the warm months. That would mean that the contagion rate would have risen with colder weather. That did not happen, the death rate started to surge from late September onward. The USA had four days of 5,000+ deaths with Jan 10 peaking 56,000 deaths. The last 5,000 death day was Feb 5, since then it has begun to subside. Why is that, the gridiron football seasons are over.

The reporting on this has been biased due to America's love of football, and the money the NFL generates. All violent sports are super-spreader events, even hockey.

I guess we should take your opinion over scientists with all the pieces of the puzzle you’ve put together

Not sure if you heard but a vaccine was starting to be released during the end of football season. I think that might’ve had something to do with deaths decreasing

Should include a third partner, such as the Lingerie Football League.
Would get very entertaining.

I get the "league has been in trouble a million times before" thing...and it's probably in trouble again...I think getting the XFL involved would destroy the Canadiana of it...I say try to make it work on it's own.

Who gives a fuck??? Named one other professional. Personally I think the Canadian teams/fan base will be much more excited about the idea of playing Americans.

IMO I would like to see the CFL made up of ALL Canadian kids. Give them a chance to play after University or Jr. ball. Of course it will never happen but there are good football players heading south to US Colleges who could play in the CFL as there are kids up here . Canadian University football has got a lot better over the last 20 years. But sadly it won't happen. Too bad the CFL doesnt use more Canadian than they do but of course the US is a football factory.

Ah yes! the CFL in the USA !
The experience made a cameo appearance in the Baltimore Homicide TV Series where the Detectives did a pre game walk on at the start of the CFL Baltimore Colts/Stallions (using the name Colts was a big deal at the time) game and Ned Beatty's character kept ranting " But it ain't the same game"
