Well "mighty" Madrid took a beatdown in Lyon, could have easily been 5-0 by halftime, but 3-0 was good enough, sure Madrid was without Zidane and Ronaldo, but they should have still put a better game...

The 2nd goal Kaka scored vs. Fenerbahce was simply incredible...

And Liverpool scraped by Real Betis 2-1, lucky to escape with a win..

other results:
Chelsea 1 - 0 Anderlecht
AC Milan 3 - 1 Fenerbahce
Olympiakos 1 - 3 Rosenborg
Rangers 3 - 2 FC Porto
Artmedia Bratislava 0 - 1 Inter Milan
PSV Eindhoven 1 - Schalke

Beckham also cant spell but then again he never struck me as a potential MENSA candidate

as for the Reds looked brilliant the first half not so much the second half and can you imagine had the lost with Gerrard on the bench

Beckham, don,t worry about your overated "UnReal" Madrid team. You
have bigger fish to fry as in not losing to teams like Northern Ireland!
Now, Tell Sven to get his head out of his Bunghole and put you back on the
right side. Btw, did Victoria get breast implants? You must Bend like it Beckham with those airbags huh..

Wayne Rooney ...

I think the problem with Rooney is that he has no self-control. When things don't go his way ie. when he can't score goals, he starts pushing other players around and begins to act like a child. On top of that, the English commentators and the English media never go too hard on him because they consider him the "special one".

Rooney's erratic behaviour is often dismissed with the reasoning that he's still very young. With England, there's Wayne Rooney, and then there's everyone else.

Just like to say we are witnessing the plight of Arsenal.

They need a 90th minute goal from Bergkamp to beat Thun, at home!?!

Henry out for like 6 weeks, Van Persie suspended for 3 CL games, Bergkamp doesnt fly, thats okay they're used to blowing in Europe.

Seriously though, this will finally be the first time Wenger doesnt finish 1st or 2nd in the Prem.

Wouldn't it be fun if MLS teams could compete as well? I think it would be great for soccer if FC Dallas, DC United or Real Salt Lake would win the Champions League.

I too wondered that, but American teams arent a part of UEFA so that wont happen anytime soon, plus the travel would be troublesome.

MLS teams however, do compete in the Copa Sudamericana, which is the Champions League equivalent in South America.

is there a bigger wanker, jerk, loser in European football today than Wayne Rooney?
I love his talent, bemoan his immaturity.

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but I have to comment on something far more important -- scouser, where in thunder did you get that great picture??? :D

Please oh please keep them Crappy MLS Teams where they are... we (in Europe) don't want Foreign Teams to enter the Champions League. Create your own.
Or stick to American Football.

I watched the Read Madrid vs Roma game during the last CL played in an empty stadium, and it just wasn't as entertaining when you have thousands of fans roaring in the backgound .... the game seemed more like a practice run.

The Liverpool vs Chelsea matchup should be interesting since both teams know each other so well .... I wouldn't be suprised if the scoreline doesn't go any higher than 0-0 or 1-0. Maybe a defeat from Liverpool is what's needed to stir up things for Chelsea in the EPL.

Arsenal is going to have a tough time against Ajax since their list of injuries keeps increasing .... Gilberto, Dennis Bergkamp, and Thierry Henry are all out, while Robert Pires is also doubtful. Plus Robin van Persie and Jens Lehmann are suspended.
