Canadian Press reports that the Director of CSIS stated that almost half his agencies efforts are now devoted to countering Chinese operatives. With the actions of another 14 countries of concern. Suposedly Chinese spies steal technological secrets worth aproximately $1 billion each month.

According to two Chinese officials who defected to Australia in 2005 China runs "hundreds of spies and informants in Canada, mainly in Vancouver and Toronto."

This sort of thing has been going on for decades. pakistan got a major push start on their nuclear program by having all their agents get jobs here at Candu and AECL, suck up as much info as they could then go back.

Knowing our bleeding heart stupid farking system the gov't is most likely paying a pension to those spies for the time they were here.

A classic example of Vito Corleone's adage "keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

Lancs, you really need to watch the movie "The Godfather" sometime. It could come in handy the next time you "go to the mattresses" here on TERB.

No Homo.

Actually, it was India that used Canadian technology exported to them to help launch the weapons program. But hey, England, France, what's the difference?

If I'm wrong , oops, but I was sure it was Pakistan. I guess I'll need to check.

There is a real difference between England and those snail eating whiners from the island of Englands east coast. I am taking your comment in the spirit I think it was given but needed to clarify anyway.

To Lancslad and some others, everything is a left-right issue.

American companies are having the same problem.
Only difference is that the thefts are a multiple of 10.

I don't think this is a left-right argument as Lancs
describes it. The US has only had 8 years of D
leadership in the last 26 years. The Rs and Ds
are both fighting this problem and their success
rate is about the same.

I don't believe that i characterized this particular thing as left vs Right.

The bleeding heart applies to all parties. Its more the so called "sacred" social safety net we have here that is more like a hammock for resting.

My point was that while they were employed here in Crown agencies and spying on us they were also building up credit for gov't pension. It would be so typical of our system, regardless of party, to pay them a pension after they left.

So the conservatives are just as much to blame as the liberals?

If politicians are entitled to a comfortable retirement, shouldn't we extend the same courtesy to spies and other parasites?

They need to worry about birth and population control, not spying.
