I've been seeing a mainland Chinese girl for several months now, and I've noticed several things that distinguish her behaviour from "Western women". These traits include:

1. Being completely and strenuously dismissive of compliments
2. Being extremely frank about the difference between "sex friends" and "dating"

This is, of course, a partial list only.

I have noticed at least some of these traits in other mainland Chinese women who I didn't get to know quite as well.

Do others agree that these traits are cultural and consistent with most women from this part of the world? Just curious.

A lot of what you say fits with the ladies I have dated from the mainland BP, with one major exception.

Loving of DATY.
I know in a couple of cases I was the first to ever engage in that activity, and they were hooked after proper attentions were paid.

A good healthy appetite.
Always late and make a "grand entrance".

Their arrogance is intriquing.
They are dreamers.
They know how to dress!

Not sure if you are talking about a real gf or SP. Of course there's a big difference there. Also China is a big country so attitudes change quite a bit across the country. Whether she's from a large city, higher social/economic class, age, education and how long she's been in Canada will influence her view on relationships. In general, I agree with 3-5. 6-7, 9-10 are more general for Asians. 1 and 8 are probably individual things and 2 is just the opposite, IMO. If you have sex with a chinese women (non-sp), she will probably think you are dating now, so could be dangerous. This seems less so with the younger generations though.

At least in terms of wives or girlfriends a lot of the points made earlier in this thread apply to Russian women as well. From the list particularly numbers 8 & 9 as well as the following points:

As with any generalizations there will be exceptions if you asked me to point out traits more commonly found in asian women I'd say........

1) an interest in vid games, comics/anime (but just as likely to find that in the geek or goth communities as well)

2) an interest in dating non-asian men (take a look at dating sites you'll see it mentioned quite a bit)

I really disagree with the one comment that asian women know how to dress. If they are influenced or keep in touch with asian pop culture you'll find there style of dress to be a bit weird compared to western aesthetics. It's hard to describe a kinda 80s/girly type aesthetics that I just don't like.

I can confirm your observation about this, but with a caveat.

The girl I've posted about told me she prefers Western men for "fun", but would only consider marrying an asian man "because they're more committed to family life and family obligations" (paraphrasing her, not my own view).

I'm not inclined to argue with her, as I'm content to have her think of me as fun!

I also agree with your dissent about the fashion sense of chinese girls. I don't think it's a strong suit (pun intended).

Other than the "time management" issue, I really disagree the rest.

Many only know pop singers and karaoke, don't read any newspapers or only read the entertainment section, read entertainment magazines mostly related to Canton Pop stars.

If she doesn't like your face, she will give you a "whatever" look and walk away when you try to have a normal small talk say at the club. Some of these arrogant Asian chicks look teenager but she is mid 20s and her body looks like pre-teen and that will never change
